Our take
The Traktor S3 is a solid mid-range controller that nails the essential features. I love the 16 RGB pads and the jog wheel illumination for low-light gigs. The built-in sound card works flawlessly, and the 4-channel layout gives plenty of room for creative mixing. Effects like delay and distortion add flair without overwhelming. However, I find the single mic input limiting — no second vocal mic for guests. Also, at 3.2 kg, it's not the lightest for transport, but manageable. The software integration is seamless, and the auto BPM is a lifesaver. For $710, it's a fair deal for gigging DJs who want Traktor's ecosystem without the flagship price.
